We love to organize trips to in-state and out-of-state attractions. We organize picnics with free food, games, and fun. We organize hikes, game nights, retreats, sporting events, and just about anything that will help internationals build relationships.
We will email you with notifications about upcoming trips.
Each year, over Labor Day weekend in September, BIO takes a trip to Laguna Beach, Florida. Come join us for a fun time and enjoy the sun, sand, games, and meeting new friends. This trip takes place shortly after school begins in the fall semester, and is just in time for new international students at UAB to meet other internationals and Americans.
We host several hiking trips and sight-seeing trips to to local, in-state, and out-of-state attractive places. Many internationals take advantage of this break from their studies to enjoy outdoor activities and visit with others.
Some of the places we have visited in the past include:
U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL
Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, GA
Dismals Canyon in northwest Alabama
Ruby Falls and Rock City in Chattanooga, TN
Cathedral Caverns in northeast Alabama
Periodically, we host picnics which offer food, games, fun, and fellowship! Each year, we go to homes of Briarwood members with lake houses, which gives people the opportunity for water fun, fishing, and sports.
We love to get together on the weekends at someone's home to make food, play games, and enjoy time together.
Each December, we host an International Christmas Party for internationals and their families. We have refreshments, Christmas music, wonderful times with friends, performances, and an explanation about Christmas.
